How to use it
- 1Choose "Duration between times", "Add/subtract time", or "Sum durations".
- 2Enter your start time and end time, an amount of time to add or subtract, or a list of hour/minute rows to total.
- 3Read the resulting duration, time, or running total — durations also show a decimal-hours figure and any day change.
Example
From 09:00 to 17:30 is 8h 30m (8.50 decimal hours). Switch to “Add/subtract time” to answer questions like “what time is 2h 30m after 09:00?” or to “Sum durations” to total a list of work sessions into one figure for a timesheet.
How it works
“Duration between times” treats an end time earlier than the start time as happening the next day, which is usually what's meant for things like overnight shifts, and also shows the result as decimal hours. “Add/subtract time” wraps around midnight and tells you if the result lands on a different day. “Sum durations” adds up any number of hour/minute rows into a total in both H:M and decimal-hours form.
